Before packing your bags...

Whether you have questions about how to get to Esteros del Iberá, why you should stay with us, or are simply curious to learn more about this exquisite part of the world, we invite you to continue reading for directions, safety tips, and our most valuable recommendations.

What is the best time to travel to the Wetlands?
Every time of year is a beautiful and unique time to visit this destination. Each season has its own charm, and there are no specific rainy seasons.
During the summer, most birds are nesting with their young. Migratory birds find the Iberá Reserve a suitable place to spend the season. Aquatic plants such as water poppies and water hyacinths add a rich color to the estuary, while the white orchid and the caraguatá sapling provide the same beauty in the forest. Many of the plants thrive thanks to the excellent combination of heat and humidity.
In autumn and spring, temperatures are mild, making it a perfect time to see marsh deer in full breeding season, which is why it is common to see them in groups.
Winter is an ideal time to see the caiman, which takes advantage of every available spot to bask in the sun, essential because they are cold-blooded reptiles. They can be seen in groups of up to 20 specimens side by side. You can also spot migratory birds that fly from Patagonia fleeing the harsh cold. This is an ideal climate to see rare animals like the Curiyú or Yellow Anaconda, which climbs trees and rocks to hibernate.
Are there many mosquitoes?
Being a very humid area, there are mosquitoes, but not as many as you might think; there are even days when you don't notice them. Using repellent during hikes is enough to ensure that this doesn't hinder your enjoyment of nature.
Is it advisable to travel with children?
It's an ideal destination for families. The excursions are designed so that both adults and children can enjoy the experience to the fullest. We offer babysitting services with various activities so the whole family can have a pleasant time.
What to pack?
Before you head out on your adventure, here's your "must-have" list.
  • Sunscreen
  • Mosquito repellent
  • Sun hat
  • Rubber boots or waterproof shoes
  • Swimsuit
  • Comfortable clothing
  • Windbreaker jacket for sailing
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, it's satellite-based, and its stability depends on weather conditions. This means that sometimes this service is only accessible from the lodge's main lounge. We suggest treating your stay as an Internet detox.
Can you fish in Colonia Carlos Pellegrini?
Fishing is permitted in all areas of the reserve on a catch-and-release basis and is only carried out in areas authorized by park rangers.
The lodge does not have fishing equipment and does not offer fishing excursions.
Do you accept pets?
No, we do not accept pets.
